As part of its vision to build a new Lebanese society grounded in awareness and knowledge, the Lebanese National Alliance (LNA) held a series of consecutive meetings with its educational cadres in Canada and Lebanon. These meetings marked the beginning of a comprehensive educational movement aimed at restoring education’s central role in uniting society and driving national progress.
During the sessions, participants presented an overview of Lebanon’s current educational reality and the structural challenges it faces, emphasizing the role of the Educational Committee in transforming prevailing mindsets and narratives, and in reshaping education as a tool for renewal rather than division.
Members’ Contributions:
• Highlighting differences between Lebanon’s social environments and the importance of national education in building bridges and integrating Lebanese children and youth into a shared identity.
• Proposing pilot projects targeting specific age groups or communities to test and design context-appropriate educational solutions.
• Emphasizing the role of parents, advocating for training and guidance to foster a type of upbringing that produces conscious, responsible citizens, capable of critical thinking and civic participation.
The members also discussed developing a modern, engaging educational framework for children, as an alternative to the traditional scout model, offering an interactive and enjoyable learning experience that encourages critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity, instead of the quasi-military tone often found in the current scouting structure.
The discussions concluded by stressing the awakening of the mind and cultivating a culture of questioning among both youth and adults, moving away from superficial incentives and toward the creation of genuine awareness the true foundation of lasting national reform.
